Rains continued to lash the city for third consecutive day today bringing with it the now predictable traffic jams in most parts of the city.

The rain gauges at Safdurjung MeT station measured 0.6 mm of rainfall from 8:30 AM yesterday to 8:30 AM this morning.

It said the city will continue to receive rainfall for next couple of days.

“Delhi received a total of 25.1 mm of rainfall in the last three days,” said the MeT office.

The perennial problem of water logging in Monsoon led to traffic jams in several parts of the city including major intersections such as ITO, Laxmi Nagar, Kashmere Gate, South Extension, Aashram Chowk, Moolchand Underpass, Nehru Place, Dhaula Kuan etc.

The minimum temperature was recorded at 25.8 degree Celsius, a degree below normal, as against yesterday’s 25.3 degrees.

Traffic snarls were also reported from various areas including Moti Bagh, Badarpur, Saket, Ganesh Chowk and on the flyover near AIIMS.

Vehicular movement was slow in India Gate, Rafi Marg, Kalkaji, Jangpura, Mehrauli, Mahipalpur and Janakpuri among other places due to rains and subsequent water-logging.
