Light to moderate rains today lashed parts of Haryana and Punjab, including Chandigarh, bringing relief to the people from the hot weather conditions.
According to a MeT official here, rains lashed Chandigarh (5.3 mm), Ambala (3.4 mm), Kurukshetra (2 mm), Mohali (5 mm), and Hoshiarpur (8 mm), among other places.
The mercury in the two states and Chandigarh had been hovering over 40 degrees Celsius for the past few days.
The MeT official said that more rains have been forecast in the two states and their common capital Chandigarh between June 21-23.
