Mahatama Gandhi’s grandson and noted academic Rajmohan Gandhi, 78, will be the AAP’s candidate from East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency, a seat currently held by Sandeep Dikshit of the Congress, son of former Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit.
AAP, which released the second list of 30 Lok Sabha candidates here on Thursday, has not yet finalised names for the remaining six seats in Delhi.
The party, which has uploaded the 30 names on its website, has invited feedback on any act of corruption, criminality or lack of moral character that any of these candidates might have indulged in, an AAP release said.
Among the other names are former People’s Democratic Party member and social activist Raja Muzaffar Bhat from Srinagar, a seat currently held by Union Minister for Renewable Energy and National Conference leader, Farooq Abdullah.
From Junagadh in Gujarat, AAP will field Shekhada Atulbahi Govindbahi. Former BJP leader Rajan Sushant will contest from Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, Dharamvira Gandhi from Patiala in Punjab and Harish Chandra from Almora in Uttarakhand.
The list includes 10 candidates from Maharashtra, six each from Madhya Pradesh and Haryana, including Naveen Jaihind from Rohtak, the constituency of Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda's son, Deepender Singh Hooda.
Three names for Rajasthan have also been finalised, the AAP press release said.
