The Rajya Sabha was adjourned till noon after the Upper House witnessed stormy scenes over the release of Hurriyat hardliner Masarat Alam.
Earlier, the Rajya Sabha Deputy Speaker had rejected a motion moved by the Congress leader Anand Sharma to suspend the business proceedings for the day.
