Rays Power Infra has announced its pans to set up a solar park in Andhra Pradesh about 100 km from Hyderabad. This will be its second such solar park. It has earlier developed a solar park in Rajasthan.
The solar park will have total installed capacity of 25 mw and spread over 125 acres. It will offer clients ready-to-use infrastructure for setting up solar power projects wherein units of 1 MW onwards could be set up. The company says the park and infrastructure will enable company to reduce the time and effort required to setup a solar project.
About 50 per cent of the park’s capacity had already been booked, the company stated. It has thus far commissioned 45 MW of solar power plants and expects to execute another 40 MW in 2014-15.
It has also announced that it bagged the EPC Contract for solar project of 5.5 MW from Essel Infra (Zee TV group) in Karnataka.
Ketan Mehta, Director Operations at Rays Power Infra, in a statement said, “Offices, banks, industries, star hotels can use solar power from our park. Investors are very keen as it offers a fixed and year on year increasing revenue for 25 years like a tax free pension. The best part is the operational costs are negligible.”
The company expects to supply power to a bank at around Rs 7 per unit which has a global mandate to power their offices with solar power.
