A pre-bid meeting of prospective buyers of red sanders wood has been convened on September 4 at the Aranya Bhavan in Hyderabad.
The meeting is part of the Andhra Pradesh Government’s efforts to sell the precious wood seized by the State forest department in the international market through global tenders. The wood is in great demand in the Far East, Japan and in Europe.
The AP Forest Department has notified global tenders on August 8 for the sale of red sanders wood by e-tender-cum-auction to be conducted during September 19-26.
For those intending to attend the pre-bid meeting, prior registration with MSTC Ltd is not necessary. All prospective buyers can participate in the meeting, according to a statement from AV Joseph, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests.
