An amount of Rs 436 crore has been disbursed by financial institutions under Credit Action Plan for setting up nearly 13,000 income generating units in Srinagar by the end of June, an official spokesman said today.
“Under the non-priority sector, Rs 286.32 crore was distributed, while Rs 150.22 crore was advanced for establishment of income generating units under the priority sector in Srinagar by end of June, 2012,” the spokesman said after a meeting of district consultative committee here.
The meeting was chaired by District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Baseer Ahmad Khan, who impressed upon the financial institutions to work with dedication to resolve cases of unemployed educated youths so that more income generating units can be established.
Khan also directed banks and various line departments to work together so that government sponsored scheme is implemented in letter and spirit for socio-economic development of the people.
