The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)'s Karyakarta Shibir kicked off with a launch of an exhibition - named after educationist and RSS ideologue Keka Shastri on the Friday morning in Ahmedabad.

The three-day Karyakarta Shibir will have discussions on Indian culture and knowledge, India's freedom struggle, issues of global warming, environment and its solutions, cow protection besides chalking out a strategy to further strengthen the RSS' cadre in the state.

Noted Gujarati folklore artist Bhikhudan Gadhvi inaugurated the exhibition along with the RSS second-in command, Suresh Soni. The event, being held after a gap of close to 15 years, to have presence of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, senior leader Bhaiyaji Joshi among other national leaders all the three days.

Soni termed the event as a proof of Sangh's growing activities in the state as swayamsevaks (volunteers) of 15 years ago have turned up as the Karyakartas (designated workers). Soni also emphasised on the need to work towards achieving the balanced growth by jointly progressing on development and Indian tradition together.

Over 25,000 karyakartas from 2,800 villages across the state have gathered at the Dastan farm on the outskirts of Ahmedabad.

The venue of the shibir at the Dastan farm on the outskirts of Ahmedabad, has been named after Lakshmanrao Inamdar (Vaki Saheb), mentor of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On the last and third day of the shibir on January 4, a mega public rally has been organised at the venue, Dastan Farm on the outskirts of Ahmedabad.
