RP Sanjiv Goenka Group Chairman, Sanjiv Goenka, on Friday committed to an investment of Rs 10,000 crore in the next "few years".

Speaking at the two-day Bengal Global Business Summit, Goenka maintained that the investment would be made in the FMCG sector, a "new vertical for the group".

"We will invest Rs 10,000 crore in the next few years in FMCG, a new vertical for the group," he said.

The industrialist, however, did not spell out the investment details or the time frame of these investments.

PTI adds: Airtel V-C Rakesh Bharti Mittal has announced an investment of Rs 3,000-4,000 crore in West Bengal for the next three years.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has urged industrialists to invest in the state even as some face problems due to demonetisation.
