The selection of candidates has been done after securing a feedback from grassroot level at various constituencies in both the Telangana and Seemandhra regions, TDP Chief N. Chandrababu Naidu, said.
Releasing its first list of candidates for the Seemandhra region today on the last day of filing nominations for the Telangana which goes to polls on April 30, he said that the party is conscious about some of its leaders and ticket aspirant missing out on their selection due to the alliance with the BJP.
He said these people need not be worried as they would be suitably rewarded once new Government comes to power.
“I have taken feedback from the grassroot from more than one lakh voters in each constituency, in some cases more than two lakh, through an interactive voice response system and the data such gathered has been analysed before selecting a candidate. I can justify why a particular candidate has been chosen and another left out,” he said.
“This is unique exercise we have conducted while selection of candidates. The focus is on ensuring that they win the elections. This is a necessity to root out the corrupt Congress regime at the Centre and in the State,” he said.
Admitting that in the ground situation, there have been concerns in the TDP and BJP about the seat sharing as many of the aspirants who were hoping to get tickets have missed out. But it was high time they realised that a strong alliance would help win the elections and also ensure that the developmental goals are achieved in both the regions.
After concluding the selection of candidates to telangana late last night, he said he hoped to complete the ticket allocation to Seemandhra by Friday.
