A Singapore Government delegation is slated to present the core city master plan of Amaravati, the new capital of Andhra Pradesh on Monday, July 20.
The Singapore-based urban planning consultants along with Singapore Trade and Commerce Minister S Iswaran will hand over the plan to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who has been camping in Rajahmundry.
The Singapore-based consultants have thus far presented a capital region development plan and followed it up with a master plan and will now present the seed (core) capital plan.
The core capital area plan referred to as Seed Capital will outline plans for government buildings including State Secretariat, legislative assembly, Raj Bhavan, high court, chief minister's office and other main administrative infrastructure.
The State Government through Capital Area Region Development Authority has taken up the process of pooling about 33,000 acres from farmers in the Guntur district of the State for the capital. Thus far, more than about 27,000 acre land has been pooled with the consent of land owners.
The layout details in the plan to be submitted would provide broad area and contours of the land required. This would outline various chunks of land to be part of the core capital.
The State plans to give farmers annuity payments, residential and commercial plots for the land they parted with under the land pooling system.
The State is planning to commence work on the capital from October 22.
