In her continuing testimony before the Solar Scam Enquiry Commission, Saritha S Nair, one of the two accused, on Tuesday claimed that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and his office had contributed to both the rise and fall of her company, Team Solar.
She told the commission that she used to contact Chandy through the telephones of the Chief Minister’s personal assistants and security man. She also claimed that Chandy had offered 113 acres of land on lease to her company at the property owned by a government industrial development agency at Palakkad.
She also claimed that she had paid ₹5 lakh to a Congress MLA close to the Chief Minister. This was her contribution to the ‘party fund’.
Saritha offered to hand over to the commission a statement she claimed to have written while she was in jail. She said this contained ‘extremely personal’ details and was unfit to be read in public before the commission.
She offered to hand over the statement in a sealed envelope and the commission ordered her to submit this on Thursday. The statement purportedly contains the names and details of a dozen people who had sexually abused her.
In her testimony last week, Nair had claimed that she had paid ₹1.90 crore, through middlemen, to the CM.
