The Andhra Pradesh Government , which has shown no foresight in tackling the power situation in the State, should wake up now at least and make earnest efforts to tap solar power and wind power, industrialists here have pleaded.
At a meeting organised by the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Industries (FAPI) here on Friday, they said the Government was largely to blame for the present power crisis in the State and most of the industrial units, especially the small-scale ones, were on the verge of closure. B.V. Rama Rao, President of the Federation, said it could not get any worse for industrialists and they were not in a position to pay salaries to the staff, pay back bank loans and meet other statutory obligations.
A.K Balaji, Y. Sambasiva Rao and several other members of the Visakha Autonagar Small-scale Industries Welfare Association, also spoke in favour of tackling the issue.
