Springr, a Kerala-based start-up platform for art, has received Rs 3.5 lakh angel funding from TiE Kerala.
This is the first start-up project to receive TiE funding officially. It was announced at the TiE Con Kerala, which commenced here on Friday.
The company plans to utilise the funds to scale up the crowd funding platform which has been developed to help people raise funds, Abhinav Sree, CEO, Springr, said.
He told reporters that the interest-free loan has to be returned to TiE in a year's time.
The company is raising funds for a Malayalam movie through the crowd funding route. The one-year-old start-up is also planning a community based art project with the involvement of local people for community development.
Springr has converted about 10,000 sq ft in a 100 year-old spice warehouse at Mattancherry for setting up a music recording studio, he said.
