Union Health Minister JP Nadda today laid the foundation stone for the ₹1,620-crore, 960-bed All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Mangalagiri near Vijayawada and announced that 10 new AIIMS will come up within 18 months. The new AIIMS will come up on a 200-acre site and be completed within three years. After the foundation stone laying ceremony, the Union Minister said it was proposed to set up AIIMS facilities in every State while 10 more will be added within one-and-half year.
