A local court has rejected the anticipatory bail plea of Susi emu firm Chairman M.S. Guru who is wanted in connection with allegedly cheating people to the tune of crores of rupees by promising lucrative returns on investments in commercial rearing of the bird.
Principal District Judge Sathishkumar rejected the plea yesterday.
Police are still searching for the accused.
The Economic Offences Wing of the police said the General Manager of Susi emu firm and three owners of other firms have already been arrested. The EOW seized 16 cars belonging to six emu firms last night.
Police said they have received 1,099 complaints against the firms.
Some investors claimed that they have invested Rs 23.39 crore in the firms.
