The deadly H1N1 virus is spreading its leg in Gujarat with 117 fresh cases being reported on Sunday. Ten more people succumbed to the epidemic on Sunday taking the death toll to 81 since January this year.
Two deaths were reported each from Kutch, Ahmedabad and Surat, while Vadodara, Dahod, Narmada and Surendranagar reported one death each.
The total number of positive cases in the state has increased to 744 since January.
An official statement from the Gujarat Government revealed that maximum fresh cases of the virus infection were seen in Ahmedabad at 46, while Surat reported 17 new cases, Kutch 16, Vadodara 8, Anand and Bhavnagar 4 each.
The virus spread in other parts of the state too with three fresh cases being reported in Gandhinagar, Bharuch each. Towns in Saurashtra, Rajkot, Junagadh, Morbi, Surendranagar reported two fresh cases each on Sunday, the statement revealed.
One new case was reported in each Jamnagar, Mehsana, Banaskantha, Dahod, Narmada and Arvalli districts of the state.
