The Tata group has shown interest in setting up a 100 MW solar power plant in Telangana. “The group has expressed interest in renewable energy opportunity too. It also agreed to participate in a Greenfield township project at an appropriate location,” a Government official said.
The group will send a team with top executives to the State to discuss modalities for collaboration in some projects.
A team headed by Telangana IT and Panchayat Raj Minister K T Rama Rao and Principal Secretary (IT) Harpreet Singh have met the top brass of the group including Chairman of Tata Sons Cyrus Mistry in Mumbai on Tuesday.
The Telangana delegation made a presentation on the opportunities available in the new State for investments. It also explained on the new Industrial Policy.
The Tata team included Anil Sardana (Tata Power), Sanjay Ubale (Tata Realty and Infrastructure), Vinayak Deshpande (Tata Projects), Puneet Sharma (Tata Capital), Sukaran Singh (Tata Advanced System), R Ramanan (CMC), Sumit Sapru (Tata Housing), Ravi Pishaordy (Tata motors) and N Srinath (Tata Teleservices).
“The Tata Sons Chairman committed support of TCS for the upcoming T-Hub project. He also assured to look into the possibility of Tata Innovations Fund picking equity in the project,” the official said in a statement.
