The TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu and chief ministerial candidate for Seemandhra held parleys with the State Chief Secretary and other senior officials at his residence here today on issues relating to augmenting State finances and fiscal devolution.
Matters relating to division of the State and its assets, its finances and the way forward were discussed with the State Chief Secretary P.K. Mohanty and other senior officials for the second consecutive day.
During the interaction, the issue of setting up of a new capital in Seemandhra region and development of infrastructure was among a series of issues which were taken up for discussion.
Apart from shoring up the finances, the discussions also covered the assurances made by the Central Government with regard to creation of new infrastructure in Seemandhra as a part of the division of Andhra Pradesh into Telangana and Seemandhra.
One of the immediate concerns for Seemandhra is the need to augment finances as it is likely to face deficit as the biggest revenue contributor to Andhra Pradesh is Hyderabad and this will become part Telangana.
