The bill for creation of the proposed Telangana State by bifurcating Andhra Pradesh has reached here on Thursday.
A senior official from the Union Home Ministry had handed over the bundle containing the bill papers to P K Mohanty, Chief Secretary, Government of Andhra Pradesh at the Secretariat here this evening.
However, there is no clarity on when the bill is likely to be tabled in the State Assembly which had its first meeting today. The present session is tipped to be continued for seven days.
Meanwhile, there was hectic political activity in the State capital with the arrival of Digvijay Singh, General Secretary of All India Congress Committee and in-charge of party affairs, Andhra Pradesh.
He held a closed-door meeting with Chief Minister N Kirankumar Reddy besides other key political leaders even as protests erupted by the supporters of a united Andhra Pradesh who demanded that Digvijay Singh should go back to Delhi.
He is expected to meet Governor, E S L Narasimhan on Friday.
