The Telangana Chief Minister, K Chandrashekhar Rao, has announced 27 per cent share to Singareni workers in the profit made by Singareni Collieries Company Ltd during the financial year 2017-18.

The Chief Minister has asked Singareni Chairman and Managing Director N Sridhar to increase the profit share to 27 per cent from 25 per cent given last year. Rao also said that the performance related pay, which has been due for the last 8 years to Singareni officers, should be paid immediately.

The CM has assured the officers that the Government would allot land to them in Hyderabad for house construction and extend Rs 10 lakh interest-free loan facility to officers and other employees on par with workers for building houses.

Rao suggested that henceforth Singareni workers must be addressed as employees without discriminating them from other staff. He also expressed the need treat both the management and workers as one single family of Singareni.

Coal mines officers association members and employee leaders met the Chief Minister at Pragathi Bhawan on Wednesday to discuss various pending issues. Singareni officers presented a cheque of Rs 1 crore to the CM Relief Fund for the welfare of ex-armed personnel.

“Singareni has experience and expertise of over 120 years in mining. Even in adverse circumstances, it has delivered. With the huge experience behind it in extracting coal from underground, Singareni should expand itself to other mining areas."

"Already the organisation has entered thermal and solar power production. Its expertise should be utilised to extract the sand reserves and granite reserves which are available in abundance in the State. The Government is also thinking to entrust the responsibility of mining in Bayyaram Mines to Singareni Corporation. The Singareni should come out with a study paper on the areas into which it can diversify," the CM said.

Senior ministers Thummala Nageswara Rao, Eatela Rajender, and Member of Parliament Kavitha were among present during the meet.
