Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has called upon the Centre to name the Defence Research and Development Organisation complex in Hyderabad after former president APJ Abdul Kalam.
According to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office, the former president played a crucial role in the setting up and development of various defence establishments located in Hyderabad such as DRDL, Midhani and RCI.
Naming the DRDO complex after Abdul Kalam would be fitting tribute to the great contributions made by him in the country’s self reliance in the defence sector, the Chief Minister stated.
