A meeting of the Congress legislators from Rayalaseema and Andhra regions began here this morning to discuss the issue of a separate statehood for Telangana and express their support for a united, undivided Andhra Pradesh.
About 10 ministers, 26 MLAs and two MPs are participating in the meeting which assumes significance in the wake of Government’s announcement that a solution to the problem would be announced before 28th of this month.
Meanwhile, in view of the opposition to the meeting from Pro-Telanagana activists, Police have beefed up security in sensitive areas including Osmania University.
