The Telangana Government is preparing a plan to revive sick industries in the State. Telangana IT and Industry Minister KT Rama Rao has said that the government will take the help of an independent agency to assess the health of sick units. They will check whether efforts to resuscitate life would work.
“The intent of the promoters of a company is not sufficient. It must have the ability to survive after the efforts. We will have it assessed whether it can be revived,” the Minister said.
Talking to reporters here on Friday, he said the help could be in the form of tax sops or through power incentives. The State would rope in banks too to provide financial help, if need be. The State would come out with a detailed plan with guidelines to revive the sick units.
Polluting units
The State has identified 1,234 industrial units that are rated as ‘red and orange’ category within the Outer Ring Road (ORR).
“We will build schools, hospitals and other key components of social infrastructure. This is very important as workers moving there will not find it difficult to live there. We will build such infrastructure in the public-private partnership,” he said.
Well ahead of shifting of the polluting units, the government would build common effluent plants and other facilities to ensure pollution-free atmosphere in those areas.
