The Telangana government wants a free hand to devise its own Land Enactment.
Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao said, “It's good to leave it to States to bring out legislations on issues related to land, keeping in mind their own local requirements.”
Addressing the CII National Council met here on Wednesday, he said the State had made an appeal to the Centre in this regard.
He was responding to a query on whether the State Government would accept the suggestion made by the Centre asking the states to plan their own land legislations, keeping in view the bottlenecks it's facing.
The Telangana government is also examining a proposal to remove VAT on sugar and purchase tax.
