An augmented production line with an annual capacity of 30 million blood bags, one of the world’s largest, has been commissioned at Terumo Penpol here.
Koji Nakao, Chairman of Terumo Corporation, Japan, formally inaugurated the facility on Monday, which raises the production capacity from the existing 20 million blood bags a year.
Also in attendance was Neil Murphy, Vice-President of the US-based Terumo BCT, which is now managing Terumo Penpol. C Padmakumar, CMD, Terumo Penpol, presided over the inaugural function. Terumo Penpol is now exporting blood bags and blood bank equipment to more than 70 countries.
