The Apparel, Made-Ups and Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council (AMHSSC) has become fully operational, says A Sakthivel, President of Tirupur Exporters Association (TEA).
Launched jointly by the Ministry of Textiles, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and the Apparel Export Promotion Council for enhancing skills based on industry demand through structured programmes and assessment, the AMHSSC has identified 25 job roles in the apparel sector.
This will be in addition to the training of fresh candidates, the TEA President said, and invited members to get affiliated with the AMHSSC to avail of the benefits that are under Government schemes.
“It is crucial to determine the quality of training to ensure success of the skill development programme. Skill assessment therefore has become an essential part of skill development,” Sakthivel added.
