West Bengal Chief Minister and Chairperson of Trinamool Congress, Mamata Banerjee, today hinted that money power was the reason behind BJP’s stellar performance in 2014 Parliamentary election.
Without taking any direct reference to BJP, she said: “This election shows money power can make a difference.”
Expressing concern at the alleged change in idiom of politics, she said: “Will there be scope for value-based politics? Or, money will play the decider?”
The West Bengal Chief Minister admitted that it was a “tough battle” and, attributed her party’s improved showing to public endorsement of her government’s policies.
Banerjee accused a section of media and central agencies for biased attitude towards her party during the election.
