Both the BJP and the Congress are facing internal battles over ticket distribution for the Delhi Assembly elections.
While police had to be called in to remove protesting BJP workers in front of the party headquarters here on Tuesday, the Delhi Congress’ official website stopped functioning as the site administrator resigned from primary membership.
The BJP’s chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi had to face protests from the supporters of Union Minister Harsh Vardhan during a roadshow in Krishna Nagar. The workers were apparently unhappy over the projection of Bedi over Harsh Vardhan by the party leadership.
Supporters of ticket aspirants also held protests at Rohini, Dwarka and Okhla.
At the headquarters of the Delhi BJP, president Satish Upadhyay’s supporters staged a sit-in protest. Police had to use force to evict them from the premises. The workers urged the leadership to field Upadhyay from Mehrauli.
Upadhyay, on his part, told the workers that he wants to contest from all the 70 seats and the protests are momentary issues.
Meanwhile, Sanjay Suri, a member of the Congress’ campaign committee, resigned from the party.

Though Puri, who was denied a ticket, was taken to Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, he could not be placated.
