The Tamil Nadu Government today presented the final supplementary estimates for 2012-13, as the Government had among others, sanctioned over Rs 1,500 crore towards power sector and drought relief.
Finance Minister O. Panneerselvam placed the supplementary estimates of Rs 6,113.37 crore before the Tamil Nadu Assembly.
Of this, Rs 2,417.97 crore was in revenue account and Rs 3,695.40 crore in capital and loan accounts, he said.
“Taking into consideration the precarious position of TANGEDCO (Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation), the Government has sanctioned Rs 1,000 crore as ways and means advance and Rs 909 crore as long-term loan,” he said.
Further, the Government had also sanctioned Rs 541 crore towards drought relief package, he said.
The Government had also sanctioned additional allocation towards various initiatives including roads and old age pension, he added.
