The Tamil Nadu Government has sanctioned ₹150 crore for immediate restoration of flood damaged roads due to the recent rains that battered the State.
Of this, ₹86.75 crore has been allocated to the four worst-affected districts of Thiruvallur (₹26 crore), Kancheepuram (₹24 crore), Cuddalore (₹24 crore) and Chennai (₹12.75 crore).
The remaining ₹63.25 crore has been allotted to other affected districts to take up urgent repair works on the damaged roads, according to a state government press release.
A review meeting was conducted by the State Minister for Highways and Minor Ports, Edappadi K Palaniswami, on Thursday along with the department’s Principal Secretary, Rajeev Ranjan, with field officials to review the flood repair and restoration activities, the release said.
