After a six day gap, when services were stopped due to stir by outfits in Karnataka over Cauvery water release to Tamil Nadu, the State Transport Corporation resumed operations, but only to border areas, officials said.
The officials said services were operated from Sathyamangalam, Coimbatore and Tirupur to Pulinjure check post, from where passengers disembarked and boarded buses to Karnataka on the other side of the border to leave for their onward destinations.
They also added that cars, vans and other vehicles including lorries with Karnataka and Kerala registration numbers were allowed to enter Karnataka.
A strong Police contingent has been posted at Punlinjure check post area to avert any untoward incident.
