Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Ltd formally commissioned projects totalling over Rs 331 crore at its factory in Karur.
According to an official press release, the Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa launched the projects today through a video conferencing facility.
The projects included a Rs 164 crore recycled paper pulping line; Rs 167 crore captive power project; Rs 88 lakh drinking water supply to four villages in the vicinity; a Rs 4 crore training centre; and a Rs 25 lakh emergency treatment facility provided by the company to the government hospital at Velayudhampalayam.
