Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday ordered release of Rs 350 crore to TS Transco for purchase of additional power aimed at bridging the growing demand-supply gap.

Reviewing the power situation in the State with D. Prabhakar Rao, Chairman and Managing Director TS Genco and TS Transco in Secretariat, the Chief Minister wanted all efforts made to ensure uninterrupted power supply to all the consumers in the State.

The Chief Minister suggested additional power procurement from all available sources, including Kayamkulam power project.

Apart from directing release of funds for purchase, the Chief Minister wanted that there should not be any power shortage in the State.

According to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office, the CMD of TS Transco informed Chief Minister that he had negotiated for additional power supply from various sources and necessary power would be procured as per requirement.
