The Union Ministry of Mines will hold a national conclave on Mines and Minerals, jointly with the Chhattisgarh government, Raipur on July 4 and July 5.
The conclave is also expected to reflect on the concerns about the mining sector, which is also going through a transitional phase of uncertainties in the international manufacturing scenarios created by slack demand from China triggering a downward trend in the international commodity market.
A spokesperson of Goa Mineral Ore Exporters’ Association (GMOEA), body representing Goa’s private sector iron ore miners and exporters told Business Line on Friday that GMOEA will participate in the conclave and Goa’s mining related issues may be raised in general during the conclave.
It will help the Central Government to further improve the policy environment to promote best practices and addressing various issues in the mining sector.
This event, the first of its kind in the country will be continued as an annual event. Besides, Union Minister of Steel and Mines as well as Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh have accorded their consent to participate the conclave.
A round table will be organized after the inaugural session for interacting with major industry leaders. Federation of Indian Mineral Industries (FIMI) has agreed to partner for organizing the workshop.
More than 300 participants are likely to attend the conclave.
