UL Cyberpark is wooing IT companies from other Indian states like Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh to set up development centres in Kozhikode. The park, which is spread across 41.88 acres of land, of which, 30 acres has been notified as SEZ area. Talking to Business Line at a road show in Bengaluru Ajith Kumar R, CEO of Cyberpark, Kozhikode said that with good quality engineering colleges and with Calicut University, talent availability will not be an issue for companies wanting to set up their offices in Kozhikode.
"The region produces around 10,000 engineers every year," he added. Already, companies like Ernst and Young, UST Global, IBS are planning to set up development centres in Kozhikode.
It may be recalled that Keala government has accorded top-most priority to create IT infrastructure by ear-marking over 1,500 acres across ten locations in the state, said Kris Gopalakrishnan, co founder of Infosys who also is an angel investor. Gopalakrishnan has been associated with Startup Village, which is also located in Kerala and will now connect that initiative with the UL Cyberpark initiative.
