Village Financial Services (VFS), a micro-finance institution, on Thursday opened a new branch at the Purnea district of Bihar. VFS now has 100 branches spread across 22 districts in Bihar and West Bengal.
The company started operations in West Bengal in 2005 and at present has a membership base of over three lakh poor households.
Till date, the company, according to a release, has disbursed around Rs 846.81 crore and has a repayment rate of 99.82 per cent. It has a staff strength of 1,000.
