The West Bengal Government is looking to have a specific start-up policy, IT minister Bratya Basu said.
According to him, the government is in the process of preparing a website which will act as a “comprehensive database”and store details.
The site will also act as an interactive one where it will have the details not just of the start-ups, but also of angel investors and mentors.
“The idea is to have a comprehensive site which will act as a storehouse for all information relating to start-ups, their founders’details, list of mentors and also names of angel investors / funds,” Basu told IT industry captains during a meeting organised by the regional chapter of Nasscom (The National Association of Software and Services Companies).
The IT minister also sought help from the industry body to help prepare the website. “The website, I believe, has to come up on a public-private basis. And, Nasscom can help us in developing the site,” he said.
