Water levels improve in Kerala

Central Water Commission updates on reservoir levels in the State said that that Idukki, the largest, had touched 2339.56 ft; Idamalayar 486.48 ft; and Kallada 222.17 ft, as at the end of week on Monday.

These were higher by 37.6 ft than previous year’s level on the same day in Idukki; 64.70 ft in Idamalayar; and 25.76 ft at Kallada, the Commission said.

Major amounts of rainfall received during the week at the respective catchment areas were 9.4 cm each at Idukki and Idamalayar on Wednesday and 2.6 cm in Kallada on Wednesday.
