The West Bengal Government is set to rope in famed global brands such as Samsung and domestic companies like CESC and Berger Paints to train young men and women in latest skills for quality jobs.
“We are going to tie up with companies like Samsung, CESC and Berger for developing the skill sets of young men and women of the state,” the Minister for Technical Education and Training, Ujjal Biswas told a seminar organised by the CII Eastern Region here today.
“West Bengal is known for its rich pool of superior intellect. The state government wants to transform our intellectual wealth into top class skill resources. The vision is to make West Bengal the skill capital of the world,” the minister said.
West Bengal, Biswas said, had emerged as the best state in the recent 50th All India Skill Competition 2014 organised in Delhi by the union ministry of labour and employment.
This is the second successive year West Bengal topped the chart, the minister added.
