Sitaram Yechury said that if the privilege motion against Smriti Irani is not admitted in Lok Sabha, his party would invoke her Rajya Sabha membership to move the motion. “We don’t know whether it will be admitted. But we are forewarning the government… If they try to circumvent a legitimate motion, we have other methods,” said Yechury.
“Admittedly, she didn’t have the occasion to tell the untruths in Rajya Sabha. And we don’t know how the Lok Sabha Speaker will treat this,” he said.
