Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday approved the reconstitution of government thinktank NITI Aayog. While Vice-Chairman Rajiv Kumar continues in his post along with members VK Saraswat, Ramesh Chand and VK Paul, the ex-officio members now include Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar.
However, the name of Bibek Debroy, a former permanent member, is missing from the new list.
Special invitees to NITI Aayog include Minister of Road, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari; Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Thawar Chand Gehlot; Minister of Railways Piyush Goyal; and Minister of Statistics (Independent) Rao Inderjit Singh.
