A release by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, issued after the death of Rural Development Minister Gopinath Munde following a car accident in Delhi, said he was brought to the AIIMS Trauma Centre 10 minutes after the accident took place.
The Minister was “brought to the emergency department of JPN Apex Trauma Centre, AIIMS, New Delhi, at 6.30 a.m on 03/06/14 by his personal assistant and driver,” said the release, adding that “Shri Gopinath Munde was sitting on the back seat in his car which was hit by another car/vehicle at 6.20 a.m, from the side where he was sitting.”
According to the release, on his arrival at the trauma centre “there was no spontaneous breathing, no blood pressure, no pulse, bilateral pupils were dilated and fixed and no cardiac activity was present, so immediately CPR (cardio pulmonary resuscitation) was started and continued for the next 50 minutes. Despite all aggressive resuscitative measures, Shri Gopinath Munde could not be revived and was declared dead at 07.20 a.m on 03/02/14,” said the release.
