The Overseas Indian Facilitation Centre is organising the 7th annual OIFC Market Place in Kochi from January 7 to 9 during the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas.
The Centre, a public-private partnership between the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs and Confederation of Indian Industry, was formed to facilitate the economic engagement of the Indian diaspora with India.
Rajiv Mehrishi, Secretary, Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs, and Chairman, OIFC, said, “The OIFC Market Place being organised for the seventh consecutive year is set to create exclusive opportunities for the Overseas Indian community with who wish to develop their economic linkages with India.”
In the past, these meetings have proved to be extremely beneficial for the delegates comprising NRIs and PIO (Person of Indian Origin).
“We are confident that the Market Place this year, will chart new grounds for OIFC’s partners as well as between participating delegates,” he said.
These meetings are being arranged through a pre-event online scheduling facilitated by OIFC. Last year saw an impressive footfall of more than 1,200 visitors and over 500 business interactions and meetings.
According to Sujata Sudarshan, CEO, OIFC, the world over, the Indian overseas community has been making their presence felt in business and politics alike.
OIFC has been continuously working towards bridging the gap between the desires of the community to link back with their roots and the processes that one requires to undertake to make these linkages happen.
