After launching a mega conservation campaign, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas M. Veerappa Moily on Friday announced that he will use public transport every Wednesday.

“This practice would continue every Wednesday starting October 9,’’ Moily told media persons in the national capital.

The Minister said that a circular would be issued to all departments and public sector undertakings across the country under the Petroleum Ministry’s umbrella to adopt a similar practice.

Moily said that he has also requested other Ministries to help conserve fuel by using public transport. But, the step is voluntary. “I cannot take action for not doing this,’’ Moily said.
