Orient Bell, which is strengthening its presence in the South Indian market, has launched Orient Bell Tiles Boutique (OBTB), a company-owned tile showroom, in Coimbatore.
This is its second outlet in Tamil Nadu after Chennai, a top official of the company said. The company is planning to open 10 more such sboutiques across South India in six months.
It has a network of 150 OBTBs pan-India, of which 11 are company-owned, said Aditya Gupta, Chief Executive, Orient Bell who was in the city to inaugurate the showroom.
He said the company would invest heavily in South India which contributed to 15-20 per cent of the company’s total business. To strengthen its position, Orient Bell will roll out a large selection of new products on September 4.
The focus will be retail business and vitrified tiles with emphasis on digital tile technology. The offer will encompass the entire range of applications for living and working spaces, he said. “We have so far been following the ‘one-size-fits-all’ concept, but have broken away from it. Customers in the North prefer light coloured tiles, while those in the South likedarker shades and those in the eastern parts prefer glazed tiles to matte-finished ones.
