Reacting to a ceasefire violation by Pakistan, Union Defence Minister A.K. Antony on Wednesday said that the action by Pakistan army was highly “provocative’’.
Terming the treatment meted out to the deceased Indian soldiers as “inhuman’’, Antony said that India’s Director General of Military Operations has already taken up the matter with his counterpart in Pakistan.
The matter would also be taken up by the Government.
“It is highly provocative action on the part of Pakistan army. The way they treated the dead bodies of Indian soldiers is inhuman,’’ he told reporters on the sidelines of the 47th convocation ceremony of the Indian Statistical Institute.
Asked about Pakistan’s denial of the incident, Antony said: “That it happened there is a reality. There is clear evidence to it.’’
According to him, the Indian Government along with other stakeholders is monitoring the situation.
“The Government of India in coordination with all the stakeholders is monitoring the developments,’’ he said.
