Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain today greeted Hindus across the country on the occasion of Diwali and said that the Government was committed to the welfare of the minority communities.
“On this auspicious occasion, I sincerely wish that may the celebrations of the day bring more festivity and happiness in the lives of all those, who commemorate this day,” he said in a message.
Hussain said that the Government was committed to continue its efforts for the welfare of the minorities and to safeguard their fundamental rights, safety, honour, life and properties.
In this effort, “we were guided by the golden principles of our religion, the vision of founder of Pakistan Quaid-i- Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and the Constitution,” he said.
The President also called upon the Hindu community to continue making their valuable contributions for the prosperity of Pakistan and for promoting inter-faith harmony.
He said such events should serve to rededicate ourselves to continuously strive in the path of good and noble.
“Let us pledge ourselves on this occasion that we will struggle collectively for establishing a pluralistic society in which every citizen is allowed to participate for the development of the country irrespective of caste and creed,” he said.
