The engine and five compartments of Muri-Dhanbad Passenger train derailed this morning while approaching Bokaro Steel city station but there was no casualty, the South Eastern Railway said.
All the passengers were sent by road, the SE Railway said in a release.
Divisional Railway Manager, Adra, Arvind Mital and other senior officers rushed to the site to supervise restoration of normal movement of trains.
As a result of the derailment, Patna-Ranchi Janshatabdi Express both from Patna and Ranchi, Ranchi-Baidyanathdham Express and Dhanbad-Ranchi-Dhanbad Passenger trains were cancelled, while some trains were rescheduled or diverted.
