Petrol prices will be cut ₹ 1.82 in Delhi, from Saturday midnight. The cut will vary from State to State depending on the local levies. However, the retail selling price for diesel has been increased by ₹ 0.57 a litre, along with a corresponding increase in other States.
With effect from September 1, selling price for domestic non-subsidised LPG cylinders will reduce by ₹ 19 for 14.2 kg cylinder and for LPG Commercial cylinders of 19 kg the cut will be ₹ 32.50 in Delhi.
Prices of bulk diesel have also been reduced. In Delhi, bulk diesel sold to customers like the Railways, will be cheaper by ₹ 1.32 a litre, along with a corresponding decrease in various States.
After the cut in retail prices of petrol, the fuel will cost ₹ 68.51 a litre in Delhi, ₹ 76.41 in Mumbai, ₹ 76.14 in Kolkata and ₹ 71.55 in Chennai. All rates are inclusive of taxes.
From Saturday midnight, retail diesel will cost ₹ 58.97 in Delhi, ₹ 67.26 in Mumbai, ₹ 63.81 in Kolkata and ₹ 62.92 in Chennai.
"The current levels of international oil prices and INR-USD exchange rate warrants a decrease in selling price of petrol in the domestic market,” Indian Oil said in a statement.
